The Government Relations function is a critical part of TS’s global growth strategy. The position of Lead, Government & Regulatory Affairs will be responsible for government relations support of the company’s activities globally. Reporting to the Corporate Secretary & General Counsel, the Leader will develop and execute government relations strategies to drive business growth globally. This position will be based in Europe, preferably Rolle Switzerland.


Job Description:



  • Lead the development and execution of government relations strategies to generate growth opportunities, while mitigating downside issues, for TS.

  • Partner with our lines of business and integrate into their planning processes to define what Government Relations can do to help them execute their plans and improve financial performance

  • Serve as primary liaison for TS with relevant government officials

  • Actively participate to impact the legislative and regulatory process on issues and strategies important to TS.

  • Build knowledge of and strong relationships with key bodies and individuals responsible for shaping legislation/regulation in key business interest areas for TS

  • Develop keen awareness of relevant legislation/regulation and its potential impact on TS; proactively work to achieve a favorable position for the company

  • Understand how government’s needs/priorities align with TS’s capabilities

  • Establish a clear process to ensure leadership teams are aware of impending changes in pertinent legislation/regulation and or government incentive schemes

  • Work with business, functional and regional leaders, customers and others to develop creative solutions that incorporate government relations into business problem solving

  • Help the businesses, and secure government support (e.g. financial incentives), to evaluate and select the most advantageous locations to establish local presence that meets business goals

  • Create and execute opportunities for senior leaders to interact with key governmental officials in support of the company’s agenda

  • Effectively manage and participate in relationships with consulting firms and associations in order to extend the reach and impact of the government relations function

YOU MUST HAVE



  • Strong leader with a track record of effectively leading employees and cross-functional teams

  • Longstanding knowledge of government relations experience with government, corporation and/or consulting focused on legislative and regulatory arenas

  • Broad understanding of rule-making and legislative processes at national level and ability to identify and engage key decision makers within government

  • Personal presence, communication skills and credibility to effectively interact with and influence enterprise management, as well as work with a diverse group of highly motivated professionalsIntegrity and good judgment are extremely important

  • Established record of providing clients with advice that blends government relations experience, expert legislative knowledge and a keen understanding of a client's business objectives

  • Proven ability to operate in complex matrix environments

  • Experience of working across functions and delivering results based on harnessing the power of virtual teams and resources

  • Ability to work through complex issues to quickly identify most priority and focus areas

  • Strong and sophisticated influencing skills with track record of operating at executive level

  • Experience working with complex organizations to map out key decision makers / stakeholders

  • Excellent written and verbal skills in English are essential
