What it's about


In this position you will be part of the Industry Value Creation team working with our European Healthcare companies to identify and selectively execute value creation projects, from the due diligence through the exit process. You will work alongside the investment teams to source, assess, execute, monitor and exit private equity and debt transactions. We are looking for an individual with solid industry and consulting expertise in the healthcare industry and a genuine interest in moving into the private equity space.


 


The three core responsibilities:


Value Creation: Support the identification, initiation and assisting management teams in our European healthcare portfolio companies in growing EBITDA and strengthening the company


Industry expertise: Collaborate with our investment teams during the investment process on operational and market due diligence


Monitoring and valuation: Monitor debt and equity investments in our business and financial services portfolio including the definition of timely fair valuations


 


Duties include but are not limited to:



  • Working with management and the investment teams to assess the operational maturity of existing and potential portfolio companies in order to identify improvement areas

  • Support developing and aligning operational value creation opportunities with management and initiating, planning and monitoring their execution, if necessary actively assisting on running value creation projects

  • Proactively sourcing investment opportunities from the Partners Group network as well as from your industry contacts for direct investments into companies

  • Conducting various supporting tasks including fundraising efforts, and collaborating effectively with investment teams in other asset classes

  • Conducting various monitoring and monthly, quarterly and yearly valuation tasks for  healthcare portfolio companies within private equity and private debt

What we expect


We are looking for a person who works well in a highly entrepreneurial organization, someone who is a self-starter and possesses strong people and organization skills. The successful candidate should have the following profile:



  • Top academic credentials, with emphasis on Life Sciences, Pharmaceutics and / or Medicine

  • Undergraduate degree plus 5 years of relevant work experience, or MBA degree plus 4 years of relevant work experience

  • Project management experience from a leading strategy consultancy with focus on healthcare (healthcare services, pharma or medical devices), preferably combined with some operational industry experience

  • Initial experience in successfully implementing change management programs that increased the operational maturity and delivered measurable financial impact

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication, able to engage across all levels of seniority, from business owners and CEOs to junior staff

  • A self-directed person, able to self-manage effectively and complete tasks in demanding timelines and with competing priorities

  • Strong oral and written English language skills, plus at least one additional European language
