Description


We are seeking enthusiastic recent graduates for our Editorial Internship program. This paid, full-time internship position in our Lausanne office will last for 6 months, with the possibility to - pending good performance and progress - roll into a fixed position. It will provide the successful candidate with an excellent opportunity to learn about the rapidly evolving environment in open access scientific publishing from an insider’s perspective and be initiated to the operations of Frontiers’ innovation-driven academic journals. Under the supervision of an experienced manager, the selected candidate will regularly communicate with high-profile scientists, researchers or clinicians and be given responsibility, targets and hands-on experience in one of the following teams:


Collaborative Peer Review team: focusing on ensuring a fair, high-quality and timely review process for all manuscripts submitted to Frontiers by supporting the external academic editors and authors, and monitoring adherence to guidelines and editorial policies.


Research Topic Team: focusing on collection content acquisition and recruitment of Topic Editors for Research Topics (Frontiers’ collections of manuscripts encompassing recent advancements on a focused research area, organized by leading scientists).


Journal Development Team: focusing on building relationships with external editorial board members and implementation of journal initiatives, including ensuring follow-up on content acquisition initiatives.


We have current openings in : Journal Development (Life Sciences) and Peer Review (ideally Neuroscience)


Requirements



  • Flawless communication in written and spoken English, and professional and courteous telephone manner;

  • A positive, professional attitude, and the ability to quickly and accurately manage large volumes of information, and emails;

  • Ability to react positively to fast-paced, innovation-driven and constantly evolving work environment;

  • A target-driven and result-oriented mindset

  • Must possess at least a Bachelor/Master Degree
