The Application Engineer (AE) will advise customers on how to develop and verify their technical computing workflows with algorithm development, simulation, statistical analysis, optimization and parallel computing with MATLAB.  Primary responsibility of the AE is to guide and manage the technical aspects of the sales process.


This position is located in Bern, Switzerland and 100% full-time at 42.5 hours per week.


Responsibilities



  • Determine customer requirements and recommend effective MathWorks capabilities

  • Prepare and demonstrate application examples

  • Deliver technical presentations

  • Work directly with customers

  • Manage product evaluations systematically and in a structured manner


Minimum Qualifications



  • A bachelor's degree and 7 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 5 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree) is required.


Additional Qualifications



  • At least 3 years of hands-on programming experience e.g. MATLAB, C++, Java

  • Experience in statistics, optimization, signal and image processing

  • Fluency in English and German; common European framework of reference level C1


Desirable 



  • Knowledge of parallel and distributed computing

  • Experience in using MATLAB add-on tools
