Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager

The position holder will take responsibility for establishing and implementing a Lean CI strategy, primarily at our site in Malta, as well as UK, Switzerland and Spain. You will be closely aligned with SR Technics directives, facilitate and lead the education and application of CI activities, in order to achieve a sustainable Lean CI culture. The ability to deal with extensive travel as well as experience of dealing with people at shop floor level, are core requirements for this position. In this challenging function, you report directly to the Business Unit Head of Aircraft Services and Line Maintenance International.

Your tasks



  • Implementation of Lean CI strategy for Business Unit (BU) Management, facilitating a BU-wide commitment to drive Lean CI into becoming a part of a sustainable living culture that supports the achievement of company and BU’s objectives.

  • Collaborate closely with other CI Managers, ensuring inter-BU alignment on Lean CI strategy, principles and activities.

  • Oversee all Lean CI-related activities, advise LT on all Lean CI-related issues, ensuring appropriate level of support and attention are provided by LT.

  • Act as point of contact for LT on Lean CI-related issue escalations.

  • Establish and facilitate essential Lean CI-related training, as well as ensure best practices being shared across the BU and the company.

  • Maintain and coach a network of Lean Agents in the area of CI tools and principles within the BU to facilitate and lead CI events and initiatives.

  • Support LT on physical Lean CI activities (e.g. performing waste walk, defects review, ideas management with LT).

  • Track and implement measures ensuring continuous Lean CI development and maturity in the BU.

  • Define and establish relevant and essential KPIs that support the company’s goals, providing periodic reporting to LT.

  • Willing to travel 40 - 60 % within Europe, primarily Malta


Your profile



  • University Degree or Higher education in Quality Engineering or Industrial Engineering

  • Experience in Lean and/or Six Sigma, minimum of three (3) years

  • Minimum of three (3) years in relevant field (preferred)

  • Logical mindset, strong analytical and communication skills

  • Excellent command of English and German (oral / written)

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office
