Technical Leader - Emerging Business

Job-description

EM Microelectronic has a number of System-on-Chip ICs addressing the Passive Keyless Entry and Remote Keyless Entry market.
To lead the technical activities in the business unit, we are looking for a self-motivated hands-on technical manager to take the team to the next level. Drive and passion are important, and so is the capability to define and establish state-of-the-art design and verification methodologies as well as modern project management techniques.

• In charge of all day-to-day operations in the business unit as a technical manager.


• Set expectations to the technical team in terms of design methodologies, design reviews, quality etc. Support the team in personal development including annual goal setting and reviews.


• Definition of technical product roadmap jointly with the BU Manager including technical surveys and competitive benchmarking


• Lead architectural definition of new products and drive innovation in the BU


• Supporting and supervising project managers on on-going projects, risk analysis and mitigation


• Interface with Quality department, Design Services and CAD Support, Wafer Fabs, Back-end Operations and other Business Units


• Mentoring junior designers


• Project follow-ups with project managers


• Technical interface with key customers

Your profile

• Ideally M.Sc. + 15 or Ph.D. + 10 of experience in analog/RF/mixed-signal IC design


• Project management and team leading


• A strong candidate with hands-on design skills, capable of mentoring junior designers and reviewing and supporting experienced designers in their daily design challenges


• Capable to lead and motivate people with a passion for technical challenges


• Understanding of agile project management techniques and modern verification methodology

Professional requirements

• Solid background in analog/RF, mixed-signal and digital IC design


• Proven track record in leading IC design teams from architecture definition to production and to deliver on-schedule and first-time-right silicon


• Strong understanding of IC design, full-custom layout and mixed-signal verification methodologies and project management techniques


• Good knowledge of CMOS semiconductor technologies


• Self-motivated, fast learning, good communicator with passion and drive


• Ability to lead a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team in a constructive and data-driven approach. Ownership and accountability are key words in your approach to team leading


• Fluency in English (oral and written) is a must, additional language skills would be a major plus


• Willingness to travel from time to time for technical meetings

Language Skills

• Fluency in English is a must, additional language skills, particularly German, is a plus.
