Duties


  • Supervise the planning, preparation and execution of the installation work within the scope of the project

  • Manage and lead the technician team in order to achieve schedule milestones and installation quality targets

  • Implement the necessary OHS procedures within the scope of work including preparation of method statements, risk analyses, safety walks, toolbox presentations

  • Ensure that the personnel assigned is fully familiar with the site specific rules, safety regulations, environmental protection measures, engineering documents and that they perform their work accordingly

  • Utilize all available tools and aids in order to achieve the goals of the respective assignment

  • Drive for continuous plant improvements and cost reduction

  • Organize conference calls regularly with Bühler specialists and further associated staff through Site Manager or Project Manager

  • Monitor progress of construction against the program and take steps to ensure the program is achieved e.g. mitigation/ preventive actions

  • Keep a diary to record daily work, occurrences, problems, special information, etc. plus a list of pending items and provides technical experience feedback to Project Management and Project Execution departments

  • Act as primary point of contact for the project with the client and contractors on site, including progress management, site organization, OHS, financial recommendations, quality control and design modifications if there is no Site Manager

  • Conduct the performance assessments of all direct reports in accordance with current procedures

  • Liaise with the Project Management Office to establish, implement and maintain operating standards to ensure quality project results and customer satisfaction

Qualifications


  • Technical education or relevant training

  • Minimum 5 years hands-on experience as Installation Supervisor or Construction manager

  • Technical and commercial knowledge covering multiple disciplines

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with site teams and motivate them to meet the project objectives

  • Strong planning, organising and priority setting skills, with a proven ability to manage teams

  • Strong interpersonal and team working skills, sound judgment and decision making skills

  • Strong intercultural skills and experience

  • Very good English skills (spoken + written) and preferably one other language
