DEPsys is a leading Swiss technology company establishing thought leadership in the energy market. Founded in 2012, it provides evolutive solutions enabling traditional electricity distribution networks to cope with the new constraints of decentralized production from renewable energy resources, such as photovoltaic installations, and of big loads, such as e-mobility charging infrastructure. The company employs around 20 people and is located in Puidoux (Switzerland) in the Lavaux region, close to the highway and the train station.


After a successful experience in 2017, we would like to reinforce our research and innovation team through the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship program (MSCA IF). Therefore, we are looking for candidates with a Ph.D. in Electrical Power Systems for a

Summary

The topic of the work will be on the development and implementation of different functionalities for GridEye (i.e. the core product of DEPsys). These functionalities are essentially related to the optimal control and management of distribution grids. The specific topic of the work will be determined more in-depth for every candidate through the process of mentored proposal preparation.


Mission / Responsibilities


  • development of optimization/control algorithms for different GridEye applications

  • implementation of the algorithms in the GridEye solution

  • writing patent, technical reports, and scientific publications


Desired qualifications


  • holding Ph.D. in electrical power systems by September 2018 (MSCA IF requirement)

  • less than 3 years of living in Switzerland in the past 5 years (MSCA IF requirement)

  • expert in the implementation of optimization methods for electric power grids

  • very good knowledge of programming in MATLAB, Python, and C/C++

  • strong analytical and synthetic skills

  • very good knowledge of English (French and/or German is a plus)
