The Information & Communication Technology Services department provides cost effective IT infrastructure services to the Group, defines and implements infrastructure policies, solutions, architecture and standards. It builds and operates an effective hub organization supporting the shared Group IT infrastructure and centralized application platforms, hosting more than 2000 servers in a fully virtualized environment and overseeing three global datacenters. In this regard we are looking for a

Head of IT Infrastructure 100% (f/m)

The position is located at our global operational headquarters in Greifensee, Zurich. Amongst Datacenter, Workplace Management, Networking Area and Telecommunication topics, you also need to coordinate and support local IT groups in various units around the globe in adhering to global IT standards, corporate frameworks and guidance. Local IT groups are available in the majority of our production sites and sales sites, with a broad set of local responsibilities. For the locations with Corporate IT on site, the local site support is within your responsibility. 

Your responsibilities:

• You are overseeing our three global datacenters in US, CH, and MY and you have the overall responsibility for operations and strategy


• Workplace Management encompasses the definition of the shopping basket for end user devices, including the definition of software images for the respective devices


• Software license management for these end user devices, along with vendor management for hard- and software is important given the 15,000 employees in our global workforce


• Operation and strategy, including vendor management, for our wide area network


• Additional considerations for security and cost optimization while increasing data volumes year over year represent an important set of duties as well


• To complement the networking area, you elaborate LAN standards for the group and develop the monitoring of our local area network installations for supporting the end-to-end performance of our global networking capability.


• Operation and continuous adoption of our cloud based firewall services ensure the safe operation for all our units and partners connected.


• Final responsibility is the operations and strategic development of our telecommunication and unified collaboration capabilities and platforms. We are at the threshold of a truly global organization still ensuring local entrepreneurship. Communication and collaboration are key elements to the overall success of METTLER-TOLEDO 

Your Profile:

• Master/ Bachelor degree in Engineering  (Informatics, Computer Science or equivalent)


• At least 5 years of experience within a similar role in an global environment


• Ability to communicate across different functional teams with various cultural background


• Leading figure between IT and business, Stakeholder Management (Global Process Owners, system owner on business side (mission critical applications)


• Strong People Manager (Management, Development)


• Knowledge with Ownership end-to-end and strong Quality focused mindset


• Leadership Personality in a decentralized and matrix environment (solutions must not only be provided but also managed - ownership for operation, for example, quality management for Active Directory)


• Fluent in English, German is a big advantage
