To support our Technical Support Team within the Advanced Materials division, we are looking for a Technical Support Engineer / PCBT. The position is a full time contract , at our Advanced Materials European HQ in Basel, CH. Business travel up to 20% to APAC or Americas regions may be required.

As Technical Support Engineer / PCBT you will be responsible of a portfolio of technical requests and projects. You understand the technical requirements of the market and act as a key interface with customers. Focusing on growth and in close contact with the commercial, marketing, quality, manufacturing and development teams in Europe and APAC, you will contribute to the promotion of commercial range and to the definition, development and launch of new products aiming at answering market needs.

Your main tasks and responsibilities as Technical Support Engineer / PCBT :

• Promote and influence the introduction of new products at customers, Tier-one’s and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs)


• Develop and maintain professional network within the PCBT business, especially at Tier-ones and OEMs in Europe


• Analyse customer’s current and future needs/ requirements as basis for new product development and global strategy alignment


• Identify and capture business opportunities ensuring market intelligence activity in continuous relationship with Marketing, Sales and Technical teams in APAC, EU and US


• Discuss actual and future test methods and standards with customers


• Work in close collaboration with T&I Development team in Shanghai


• Ensure trouble-shooting at customer sites in Europe, possibly in other regions


• Perform process audits as well as line machinery audits at customer sites


• Optimize solder mask application processes at customer sites


• Ensure Technical Support for European PCBT distributors


• Ensure that all activities are in line with Environment, Health and Safety principles, Ethics & Compliance and International Trade Compliance guidelines

Requirements:

• Education in chemistry and/or process engineering and /or surface technology


• Strong understanding of the solder mask chemistry and mechanism during application process


• Good knowledge in equipment of this industry as well as pre- and post- solder mask process


• Ability to set up correct solder mask process on customer`s production lines


• Good background of standards and testing methods used in PCB industry


• Knowledge on PCB industry, European customers and competition


• Effective oral and written English and German skills; any other language is an asset


• Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills


• Process oriented mindset and Analytical thinking


• Innovative and curious to explore not-so-obvious solutions to complex problems


• Can-do attitude and a solution oriented approach


• Good organization and project and time management skills
