The Swiss-based family owned company Bühler is a global, industrial solutions provider for processing foods and manufacturing advanced materials, contributing to food security and high energy efficiency.
Around 65% of the worldwide harvested grain is processed on Bühler mills, around 50% of all car taillamps or headlamps are getting metallized on Bühler machines. Global Head of Site Management

Duties


  • Lead the Global Site Management organization and develop it further

  • Ensure compliance with the Business EHS/ Quality Policy and all related company rules as well as safe, environmentally sound work practices

  • Review and validate adequate strategies and cost estimations of site activities at tender stage

  • Ensure that the site activities are prepared adequately by the Project, Operations and Site teams

  • Ensure that the execution of the Site Management tasks are in line with the group guidelines

  • Support the Project Team with the communication, negotiation, selection of installation sub-contractors from contract award to contract closing

  • Nominate the Site Managers and both establish and maintain an adequate site organization

  • Define improvements and targets and ensure that they are further cascaded within the organization

  • Identify, adequately use and manage the resources needed (employees, skills and contractors)

  • Ensure that the employees have the required skills and are adequately trained in time

  • Develop and maintain processes and tools within your area of responsibility

  • Ensure a coordinated approach with other functions

  • Ensure leadership and motivation by establishing an open and broad communication of the principles, objectives, targets and processes including feedback communication

  • Identify training needs and ensure the planning, delivery and follow-up of the required trainings

  • Ensure employees are properly managed, appraised and developed in accordance with the relevant people review processes of the company

  • Support the Project Director with any site matters in case of difficulties
Qualifications


  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Finance

  • Minimum 8-10 years hands-on experience in Site Management

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Global Site Management Function

  • Experience in construction and installation projects

  • Experienced within EPC and EPCM set-ups

  • Strong interpersonal and team working skills, sound judgment and decision-making skills

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, including the ability to interface effectively with people inside and outside of the company with a strong customer focus

  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time in a highly structured and organized manner within an interdisciplinary environment and a matrix organization

  • Strong intercultural skills and experience with managing worldwide processes and procedures in close collaboration with local management

  • Fluent in English (spoken + written) and preferably a second language e.g. German or Spanish

  • High proficiency in Emergency Management, Risk Management and Project Management

  • Willingness to travel up to 30% to project execution hubs and installation sites worldwide

  • Highly proactive, driven, motivated and flexible
