Job descriptionFor the development of our software components in the Corporate Action area, Avaloq is looking for a motivated Software Engineer with an interest in the banking business and a desire to take on new challenges.
As a software developer for Corporate Actions squad you will be part of an agile team of Software Developers and Business Analysts located in Zurich, Madrid and Manila. As part of your daily function, you will encounter and get to know all aspects of the Corporate Actions area. Your contact with industry experts, external partners and customers will constantly challenge you to improve your knowledge of the software you create and the business, which it covers.
Together with our Business Analysts, you will analyse customer requirements and design and develop new functionality or enhance existing features. Besides your main focus on Corporate Actions, you will also have the opportunity to support development in other areas or work on interdisciplinary innovation projects.
The Avaloq Banking Suite is primarily programmed in PL/SQL and our own script language, Avaloq Script. The development takes place in our integrated development environment, which is a strongly customized Eclipse platform. Within this development environment, we follow standardized and industrialized processes starting from specification, through development and ending with packaging and deployment of the software.
Your Responsibilities
Analysis of customer requirements and design and implementation of new functionalities
Close collaboration with the business analysis and architecture for specifications and design
Extension of the standard customisation for Avaloq Core
Maintenance of existing functionalities
Development of automated tests and support of our development center in Manila for the maintenance of existing tests
Update of technical documentation in close collaboration with Business Analysts and Technical Writers
Technical support of customer projects (new implementation of, or upgrades to, the Avaloq Banking Suite)
Education
University degree in computer science or equivalent
Professional Professional Experience & Skills
Solid knowledge of software engineering
Profound understanding of object oriented software design
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Knowledge of relational database systems (Oracle, PL/SQL) is a strong benefit
Experience in development of complex applications is an advantage
Open minded and team oriented
Eager to learn and take on new challenges
Interested in the banking business
Fluent English (German is a plus)
