Job Summary
To manage the contract approval process for non standard contracts and contract modifications, taking the lead in drafting and negotiating. Handle contract negotiations across each of the business areas and with customers, to ensure compliance with internal and external controls.
Principal Accountabilities
· Lead virtual teams through contract approval process, advising on issues and ultimately responsible for ensuring:
· compliance with internal & external controls (includingaccounting policies)
· operational requirements can be delivered
· an appropriate level of risk is taken by the company
· revenue and cost can be recognised in line with business case expectations
· Support Sales and Legal in negotiations with customers of contract terms and conditions.
· Facilitate final authorisation for non-standard contracts via Xerox UK governance process, escalating as necessary.
· Support escalations to senior management advising on issues and risks
· Support the continuous improvement of contract approval and related processes.
· Provide regular updates and feedback to management on customer negotiations.
· Experience working in Legal, Finance and Sales communities.
· Strong business and commercial acumen, with the readiness to be flexible and innovative in order to meet customer needs and Xerox requirements.
· Able to assess contracts for risk and use discretion to waive “non-mandatory” requirements
· S trong interpersonal and negotiation skills and empathy to internal / external customer requirements.
· Respond well to tight deadlines and conflicting priorities.
· Basic knowledge of contract law an advantage.
· Basic accounting knowledge an advantage.
· Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills.
· Effective team player and action-orientated.
· Drive and enthusiasm to progress and take additional responsibilities.
· Good level of computer literacy.
