For our location in Bern, we are looking for a

Scientist

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Work as part of the Process Development team in process improvement and new process development.


• Support the preparation of concepts to support technology transfer, preparation of MoMs (Methods of Manufacture) for new processes according to the respective SOPs, as well as the transfer of optimized processes to the Pilot Plant.


• Performing experiments to discover the root cause of various deviations in all manufacturing processes and collaboration in the assessment and modification of validation protocols.


• As a member of the Development team the cooperation and collaboration with several other departments within our company is also of great importance.


• Assisting, devising and conducting lab-/kilo-scale experiments in the context of process transfer from R&D to Pilot and full scale production facilities.


• Initiation of professional training program and further education measures for the development team. Training of new staff and apprentices.


• Development and evaluation of scale-up & scale-down Models. Creation of concepts for improvement of production processes and process transfer. Compilation of MoMs for new and / or improved processes.


• Perform data analysis (use the DoE &QbD approach) and write study protocols and reports.


• Coordination and monitoring the progress during process development- and/or process optimization projects.


• Support the compilation of technical documents for regulatory and partnering activities.


• Assessment of change request.


• Collaboration with different CSL sites and external partners for continuous process improvements and technologies.


• Presentations at specialist conventions and publications in trade journals.

Qualifications & Experience:

• University degree in biochemistry, biology or chemistry.


• Practical experience in process development or a related field.  Minimum 3 Jahre Erfahrung im Gebiet der Prozessentwicklung oder einem vergleichbaren Bereich.


• Experience in the techniques of protein purification and protein formulation would be a distinct advantage.


• In addition to your technical competencies, you demonstrate independence, flexibility, team-work, and sound communication skills.


• Fluency in written and spoken German and good working knowledge of English.


• Familiarity and experience with GMP regulations would be an asset.
