The methods development team is a team within the System Integration Department at BGE R&D RDI Rotkreuz. The team comprises experts with various backgrounds in electrical engineering, optical engineering, biomechanics, physics, mathematics and statistics as well as data analytics as a discipline. The team works in a wide area of fields, e.g. in algorithm development, data analytics, study evaluation, and interpretation, etc. ​Currently, we are looking for two interns in our team, who will be responsible either for the design of the user interface or for back-end development of an automatic lab solution.

Your main tasks would include:

• You work together with experts in methods development team and interface with other R&D teams


• You are responsible for building the demo system of our automatic lab solution from test planning, test guidance, data analysis to test reporting. (One of you is responsible for the user interface design. The other is responsible for the back-end development)


• You actively help to optimize the design of the demo system


• You document your knowhow and experience during the development


• You are involved in defining the real system

For this internship, you should fulfill the following requirements:

• You are currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program or have completed it up to a maximum of 12 months (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, etc.)


• You should have good knowledge in developing web-based applications


• You should have good knowledge in developing web-based applications​
  
  
  
  • User interface design using a modern framework, preferably ZK OR
  
  
  • Back-end development using noSQL databases, preferably Mongo DB
  
  

• You have solid programming skills in Java, .Net, and/or C++, Matlab


• You are a proactive team player who brings in innovative ideas


• You have good knowledge of spoken and written English, German is an asset

Start date: 1.12.2018 
Workload: 60-100%
Duration: 6 months
