Within the department Direct Procurement we are looking for a motivated and engaged person.

In this position you will be responsible for:

• Setting strategic direction for the procurement of components and sub-assemblies used in the manufacturing of medical devices


• Development as well as deployment of global and regional sourcing strategies for the assigned material groups and implementation of the corresponding applicable directives


• Representation of procurement in transfer projects and participation in "Global Procurement" projects 


• Management of assigned material groups, price and contract negotiations and cost management, cost optimization, drive consolidation, benchmarking in- and outside the existing supplier portfolio


• Supplier evaluation and qualification as well as development and relationship management, establishment of global strategic relationships


• Coordination of activities from and with the suppliers and lead cross-functional business activities collaborating with R&D, Finance and Logistics

To be the right person for this challenging position, you bring the following competencies:

• University degree or equivalent in business administration / industrial engineering; or higher education in the area of Procurement / Supply Management or an equivalent education or postgraduate training


• Global category management capabilities and project management skills in a multinational environment 


• Proven working experience in strategic sourcing, self-starter, self-assertion and very good interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills with internal as well as external partners


• Analytical and structured problem solving skills, strategic and integrated/systemic thinking and strong sense of duty, quality and cost awareness


• Ideally experience in the medical industry and the sourcing of mechanical components


• User skills in ERP-Systems (preferably SAP)


• Excellent communications skills in German and English (in spoken and written) and willingness to travel (ca. 20%)
