This position will lead the pRED Project Management organization to guarantee excellence in cross-functional early clinical development project execution across the entire pRED portfolio.

The Head of Global Project Management is responsible for delivering the capabilities needed to ensure that cross-functional drug development teams function effectively and pRED project resources are led stringently and in line with strategic decisions and priorities.

Leadership, coaching and development to staff are provided to teams with the necessary support to make decisions, produce high-quality deliverables and data, and reflect project status, progress, achievements and risks proactively and transparently

The position leads a department of about 30 people across sites Basel and New York and reports to the Head of Strategy, Portfolio and Clinical Operations in pRED.

As a member of the Strategy, Portfolio and Clinical Operations leadership team, your main responsibilities include:

• Definition, communication and implementation of the vision, strategy, scope, goals, objectives and standards for the pRED Global Project Management Organization


• Contribution to setting the global function’s strategic direction


• Management of the Project functional excellence, its budget and resources.


• Establishment, maintain and foster of the interaction with key stakeholders in pRED and in Roche


• Establishment of external contacts with external leaders/organizations to maintain leading edge knowledge of project management and resource management principles and practices.
   

As a strong Leader, you:

• Provide excellence in leadership, coaching and development for approx. 30 project managers/senior project managers/Group Leaders in the organization


• Ensure that key processes, state of the art systems and tools, guidelines and business rules are fully implemented, used effectively and undergo review for continuous improvement.


• Ensure that project information is transparent, accurate and available in a consistent and timely way across the portfolio.


• Provide effective Global Project Management support to governance bodies in terms of information, documentation and long term planning support.


• Drive talent management and succession planning, and ensure training and development is provided to enhance staff growth and expertise.
   

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in life science with senior level experience in clinical early development in big pharma companies


• A validated expertise in global project management and people management Management of Leaders is a real asset to be successful in this role


• You have a consistent track record in resource, capacity and planning management


• As a decision-maker, you have a confirmed experience as a key strategic member of a senior leadership team

• Strong strategic and analytical thinking


• Demonstrated people-oriented leadership style and track-record for people development skills across multiple cultures


• Proven ability to lead complex business projects, change design and implementation


• Experience in senior level stakeholder management and delivery of value in the global business environment


• Demonstrated consensus building and conflict management in challenging and difficult situations


• Ability to drive cross-functional change, impact organizational effectiveness and influence the culture, values and behaviors of organizations


• Appreciates the diversity of working across multiple cultures and countries
