Molecular Pathology is embedded in the Pathology group. Beside the common activities of the tissue based pathology laboratories (necropsy supervision, automated immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and digitalization), the Molecular Pathology lab focuses on automated in situ hybridization (ISH; on Ventana and Leica platform), processing of electron microscopy samples and laser capture microdissection (LCM) with its downstream molecular biological analysis (e.g. qPCR).
This position will entail development of expression guided laser capture microdissection (LCM) by optimizing LCM technique and automated area selection, establishment of expression guided protocols with downstream analysis from RNA extraction to qRT-PCR, and comparison of protocols with regard to different conditions.
As an intern in the Molecular Pathology group within Global Pathology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, you will work under the supervision of the Head of Molecular Pathology. You will join an interdisciplinary team of pathologists, imaging specialists and laboratory associates.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Bachelor or Master Student in the area of Molecular Biology, Biology or Medical Science. You are highly motivated, interested in a purpose- and people-driven and multinational environment and you have already gained some laboratory experience.
Please note that you have to be enrolled in university during the half of internship period.
The Internship can start in October or upon availability for a period of 3-6 months - please clearly indicate your preferred starting date in your cover letter. Applications need to include a CV and a motivation letter.
Due to regulations non-EU/EFTA citizens have to provide a certificate from the university stating that an internship is mandatory as part of the application documents.
