Abbott Established Pharma Division (EPD) is looking for a


Business Analytics Manager - Strategic Market Insights


for our global EPD Headquarter based in Allschwil/Basel, Switzerland.


In this role you act as the global catalyst for analytics on Brand Performance at EPD - Established Products Division.


The Role



  • Immerse in the problems key business stakeholders face to identify and prioritize analytic opportunities.

  • Produce data driven analysis and insights for these opportunities in a way that the business can understand and act upon.

  • Build analytics framework and processes to identify and extract data from various sources; visualize and turn into anticipatory thinking, regularly assess ongoing performance and innovative methods to mine and integrate insights from varied sources.

  • Influence key stakeholders by leveraging data and predictive analytics; translating into insights and forward looking analyses to help identify ways to fuel our brands and overall business to grow, increase marketing responsiveness and maintain leadership.

  • Develop strong cross-functional relationships with Marketing, Digital, Strategy, Finance, IT and Commercial to develop the analytics and visualization needed for future planning and strategic decision-making. Overall driving adoption of one single source of truth on performance.


The overall aim of this role is to deliver actionable insights through predictive analytics that fuel our brands growth and the creation of incremental business



  • Provide predictive high-level analysis, insights and recommendations on brands’ performance, market changes and competitive situation across our regions.

  • Lead the foundational understanding of market dynamics and brand’s performance across the organization promoting one source of truth.

  • Create powerful stories for senior leadership that clearly and succinctly highlight performance and actionable data insights combined with business implications/strategic & tactical implications.

  • Improve our data ecosystem by looking for efficiencies and using automation to integrate data sources and analyze complex datasets for strategic purposes.

  • Works closely with other Insight Managers to support their TA understanding and brand reviews to identify insights based on market reality.

  • Proactively identifies gaps in analytical processes, recommends new and emerging solutions and implements together with IT efficiencies by using the right systems and automation.

  • Drives a culture of customer centricity, anticipatory thinking, data driven insights and analytical thinking that lead to competitive advantage.

  • Develop and drive implementation of global-regional data strategy. Guiding local teams in managing data assets and using analytic tools to make better business decisions.

  • Develop insight driven assumptions as input into the forecasting and financial business cycles.


Minimum Education:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Marketing, Market research, Business or equivalent with a relevant specialization in Market Insights.

  • Master’s degree or MBA would be preferred.


Minimum Experience/Key success factors



  • 5 years minimum of international experience in Prescriptive and Predictive Analytics (company or consultancy).

  • Experience working with or within the Pharma industry is an asset.

  • Experience in data mining and modeling large data sets applying advanced analytics.

  • Experience with IQVIA data sets

  • Strong acumen in quantitative analytics and structured problem solving.

  • Experience with analytics from different sources such as but not limited to: social media, salesforce as well as digital sites and tools.

  • Experience in successfully leveraging and applying insights, path to purchase and research to drive business decisions.

  • Superior data management skills, versed in both synthesis of data as well as driving actionable insights in support of brand strategy.

  • Should possess strong oral and written communication skills and demonstrate strong business acumen

  • Experience in emerging markets preferred.
