Position description


SWISS Technics is responsible for the technical maintenance and safety of the aircraft fleet. In today’s digital age, a variety of specialized software applications are utilized in daily operation – for example, maintenance tasks are no longer captured in a logbook but instead, they are stored in a tablet. As part of the S/T Application Management team, you are responsible for supporting innovative software solutions. Furthermore, you act as a main contact within SWISS Technics for change requests and provide project support for implementing new functions. Your workplace is the aircraft hangar and you closely collaborate with team colleagues as well as aircraft engineers on a day-to-day basis.


Your Duties



  • Administer and support the resource management tool GroundStar within Technics as well as additional applications such as the electronic logbook (ELB) application CROSSMOS

  • Troubleshoot application-related issues, develop solutions and coordinate solution implementation with software providers and SWISS IT

  • Control and coordinate the release of application updates with software and IT-hosting providers

  • Support SWISS Technics business units with introducing new application developments including requirements specification

  • Implement new application functions including testing, testing coordination and configuration

  • Together with business units define specification for interfaces between core applications (e.g. AMOS) and other systems

  • Manage user access rights and permissions in accordance with defined standards

  • Participate in projects to support other departments in implementing new tools and processes that affect a Technics core application (e.g. GroundStar, CROSSMOS)


Requirements



  • Degree in IT administration or similar

  • Experience with Microsoft and Apple hardware and operating systems within a networked environment

  • Proficient using MS Office applications

  • Experience with software applications, preferably in an aircraft maintenance or shop floor environment

  • Experience in working with large datasets

  • GroundStar / CROSSMOS / AMOS know-how advantageous

  • Aviation experience advantageous

  • Rapid acquaintance with complex IT system landscapes

  • Basic knowledge of economics and business administration

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills

  • Strong technical aptitude

  • Eager to learn and acquire a detailed understanding of SWISS line maintenance processes

  • Good verbal and written communication skills adapted to target audience

  • Good command in both spoken and written English

  • Basic command in spoken German
