Apply to JobJob ID251994BRPosition TitleScientific Associate in ImmunodermatologyJob DescriptionWe are looking for a highly motivated and committed scientist to join our Immunology research team within the Autoimmunity, Transplantation & Inflammation Disease Area.

Your tasks will include:

• Actively contribute to projects aiming at discovering new ways to modulate the immune system for the treatment of dermatological diseases

• Implement new in vitro and in vivo lab techniques and explore new approaches

• Culture and characterize primary rodent and human cells

• Basic bioinformatic analysis

• Combinatorial application of a variety of readouts, like multicolor flow cytometry, western blots, ELISA, CRISPR/Cas9, molecular biology techniques (PCR, cloning etc.)

• Use of human and rodent skin for drug development and target validation

• Interact in a cross-functional and cross-divisional project team active in drug development

• Present results at project team meetings and engage in scientific discussions with the team membersMinimum requirements• MSc, BSc, Diploma or strong apprenticeship in Immunology, Cellular biology, Biochemistry or another relevant scientific discipline

• Excellent English language skills; knowledge of German is advantageous

• Solid knowledge of a variety of in vitro cell biology methods (flow cytometry, RT-PCR, western blot, isolation and handling of primary cells). Also, handling of skin cells such as primary keratinocytes, fibroblasts and co-culture of these cells.

• Experience with 3D- skin organotypic cultures is an added bonus.

• Experience with dermatological disease models and in vivo work is advantageous

• Proven practical experience in a relevant research environment; immunology background and knowledge of skin biology and inflammatory skin diseases

• Theoretical knowledge of immunology, immunological methods, skin biology and inflammatory skin diseases

• Eager to learn and combine new techniques and concepts

• Ability to work in cross-functional teams

• Demonstrated ability to perform exploratory activities independently and within a highly matrix team environment
