Role Presentation

As a data scientist intern, within a cross functional team (Federation IT) dedicated to enhance the Company overall efficiency, the candidate will be involved in analyzing the front to back trading flows of our Energy Trading and Risk Management system in the view of improving UX / end-user productivity as well as automating different functions supported by the system. The goal of this project is to enhance an existing ETRM with artificial intelligence (AI) to improve functions front to back like trade capture, credit risk management, voyage costs estimation, etc.

As part of the work, development coding, testing, analytics and documentation will be the main tasks to perform.

Learning and experience opportunities

This assignment will provide you exposure to:

• Data Science and machine learning


• The commodities trading market from front to back on both physical and paper trades


• Cash management / Bank reconciliation in trading and financial services environment


• Energy Trading and Risk Management systems, SAP ERP and Hana database

Candidate Profile

• Good knowledge of Java, Python, R


• Exposure to machine learning, Big Data


• Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics orientated background


• Entrepreneurial behavior, creative and flexible; out-of-the-box thinking


• Excellent English skills are required
