Corporate Brand Manager (with a strong graphic design background) (50%), CH-Basel


The Position


Our international marketing team is looking for a Corporate Brand Manager with a strong graphic design background to support our product marketing teams, to coordinate efforts in consolidating our corporate style and graphics, and to help elevate our marketing and branding to the next level. Genedata transforms data into intelligence with innovative software solutions that support large-scale, experimental processes in the biopharma industry. The new Corporate Brand Manager will be immersed in an exciting scientific, IT and business environment, interacting with multiple stakeholders and supporting our visual communication strategy.


The right candidate will be mature, flexible, fast-paced and self-directed and capable of managing projects with minimal supervision and performing multiple tasks in parallel. He/She should bring a passion for graphic design, excellent conceptual ability, and a creative touch with a strong interest in learning about science and technology. Responsibilities include creating design solutions from concept to completion in a wide range of graphic applications including the website, printed and electronic collateral materials, and tradeshow and event booths and signage. 


The position assumes initially a workload of 50%, is foreseen to expand to ultimately 100%.


This permanent position is based at our headquarters in Basel, Switzerland.


Key Responsibilities



  • Be able to comprehend business scenarios & challenges, scientific & technology concepts and translate them into meaningful internal and external communication programs that support business priorities

  • Collaborate with product marketing teams and other internal customers to understand business needs/objectives and translate them into engaging visual assets

  • Create compelling, on-brand designs and layouts for product collateral, email campaigns, landing pages, digital and print ads, whitepapers, posters and other marketing or corporate materials

  • Create event graphics for tradeshows and corporate events, including booth graphics, signage and banners

  • Develop engaging PowerPoint graphics

  • Create templates based on final designs and educate internal team on adoption and usage

  • Layout text and graphics and finalize marketing materials including product collateral

  • Develop and maintain brand guidelines to establish a consistent and recognizable Genedata look-and-feel; ensure adoption by employees, partners and third-party agencies

  • Coordinate an internal brand ambassador program to ensure global offices are outfitted with the latest brand materials

  • Ensure website content is consistently formatted

  • Coordinate projects with outside agencies and freelance designers as needed

  • Collaborate across groups and disciplines


Your Profile


Essential Skills and Experience



  • At least 3 years of corporate design experience

  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite

  • Fluent English

  • Excellent communication skills, ability to clearly and concisely communicate with multiple stakeholders and maintain relationships

  • Highly organized with a flair for project management

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating modern aesthetic, clean typography, and design solutions for a range of projects/clients. Elegant, sleek, and accessible sense of design 

  • Strong grasp of marketing and branding concepts and social media

  • Ability to handle fast-paced, multi-task environment with minimal supervision


Additional Preferred Skills and Experience



  • Scientific background or prior experience working in a scientific/biotech environment is desirable.
