Director Aseptic Filling Technology

As Director Aseptic Filling Technology you make sure a state-of-the-art technology for our aspectic filling processes is in place for the CSL Behring company globally. This includes all practices of aseptic filling, lyophilization and visual inspection of vials, syringes and devices that provide significant benefits to the company.

The technologies and processes are aligned with CSL Behring’s operational and strategic requirements as like this, we save and improve the life of our patients.

Your responsibilities furthermore include:

• Standardization of technology across the CSL Behring manufacturing sites


• Close collaboration with the Director Platform Owner Aseptic filling as well as leading a team of experts that works across sites and organizational boundaries


• Identification of technologies and equipment which supports best practices and improvement of capacity and operational efficiency


• Building-up and Leading a cross site / cross-function team of subject matter experts (community of practice) to continuously improve technologies, equipment and solutions to support increase of process performance and process monitoring


• Drives the selection of key vendors for aseptic filling / lyophilization, isolator and visual inspection solutions together with key stakeholders (e.g. Manufacturing, Local Engineering, Global Sourcing)


• Strongly build-up and maintain trustful and business oriented relationships to internal and external stakeholders to ensure the common best outcome


• Drive and support operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives that have cross site applicability


• Act as part of the Stage Gate Review and Technical Peer Review process and drive the exchange of know-how between CSL manufacturing together with your cross-site team of Subject Matter Experts for continuous improvement of these technologies and equipment and to facilitate innovation

Furthermore, you possess the following competencies:

• University Degree in Engineering, a related scientific field (e.g. Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacy, Microbiology, Mechanical etc.), further studies in business administration would be a plus


• Ten years of relevant professional experience in Pharmaceutical Engineering or Operations with significant exposure to the GMP environment


• Strong knowledge and practice in Aseptic Filling, Visual Inspection and MES technologies


• Strong track record of designing and managing capital projects with aseptic filling and visual inspection equipment and solutions in scope and evaluating the ability of a solution to meet the user requirements


• Strong and empowering leader with experience in leading and influencing in a global matrix environment


• Excellent understanding of how to successfully translate Global Engineering strategies into functional strategy and project outcomes


• Demonstrated experience training, coaching, or developing project management staff


• Excellent ability to inspire others, build-up positive, business-oriented and forward thinking relationships as well inspire and clearly communicating to all related parties across all levels and sites


• Experience in developing and deploying best practice frameworks, processes, tools and templates in an Operations context, in alignment with Enterprise standards


• Excellent written and spoken language skills in English; German skills would be a plus
