As a subsidiary of Swiss Re we do business in various global markets. As part of our clearly structured growth strategy, our office in Zurich is looking for a dynamic and motivated employee for the role of Head Business Development.


 


Tasks


In this Managing Director role you act as an Advisor to the Executive Board and you report to the elipsLife Group CEO. You will be responsible for further developing the company’s geographic reach by evaluating organic and inorganic growth options that are in line with the elipsLife vision and strategy. You will lead the processes during the whole life cycle from ideation through to execution, coordinating and monitoring. Potential new markets and acquisition candidates will need to be identified, analyzed, assessed and presented to relevant approval committees. Projects and respective teams from across different elipsLife and wider Swiss Re Group functions in the various countries will need to be steered and all relevant topics, such as technology, processes, products, human capital factors, regulatory requirements, market needs, and cultural aspects will need to be considered. Other focus areas in the role will be the coordination of the company’s Strategy process, Customer Engagement process and CEO Office tasks, which will for example include the annual assessment and review of the strategy as well as regular KPI monitoring. This includes direct leadership responsibility of the respective teams.


 


Profile



  • The ideal candidate brings along extensive leadership and project management experience as well as the ability to work towards tight deadlines while coordinating and monitoring multi-functional tasks across different countries in large organizations

  • A Master’s degree in a business relevant subject, higher education in project management or ACA/CFA qualified

  • Profound experience of life & health insurance markets, including B2B working environments and understanding of relevant biometric risk solutions, life, accident and health products

  • Track record in business development, market research and/or M&A field

  • Strong knowledge in Customer Engagement

  • Extensive experience in dealing with strategic challenges and resolution processes

  • Strong executive presence and an engaging personality, representing the four Es (Energy, Energize, Edge, Execute) in abundance

  • Relentless focus on execution, action orientation and constantly looking for challenges; able to act and react as necessary, even if limited information is available

  • Fluent in English. German and any other European languages are an asset
