About the role


As the Cost Controller iptiQ EMEA P&C, you will have an unusual and exciting opportunity to join us: a diverse and motivated team, committed to delivering value and innovative services together with our clients and partners in the primary insurance space.


 


Responsibilities


You will lead iptiQ EMEA P&C's effort on non-technical expense planning, projection, and reporting, while also serving as a port-of-call for many expense related topics. You will focus on delivering timely and accurate information on cost development against targets in an effort to hold teams accountable to budget and enable senior management to better steer the business. In addition, you will work closely in across all functions in the operating entity, as well as with Life Capital's Finance team and Group cost controlling.


 


Your responsibilities include:



  • Build and maintain cost infrastructure and tools; including driver-based expense forecasting and planning to strengthen expense management

  • Strive towards continuous optimization of processes and provision of relevant information to support managerial decision-making

  • Prepare and distribute monthly expense reporting packages to senior management including commentary on variance drivers based on detailed ledger analysis of actual expenses reported compared to plan or the latest projection

  • File quarterly projections reflecting the latest expectations and required adjustments

  • Assist the Head of FP&A in developing and submitting a budget plan that is within the annual target by working closely with Global Cost Controlling, Human Resources, Cost Center Owners, and iptiQ EMEA P&C DOO/ CFO

  • Lead the maintenance of iptiQ EMEA P&C allocation keys and service catalogue updates necessary to enable Service Cost Accounting as part of a centralized effort to ensure a consistent and equitable distribution of administrative costs

  • Review and disseminate Service Cost Accounting results on a re-occurring basis to recipients across iptiQ EMEA P&C

  • Support the business to utilize the cost transparency provided through Service Cost Accounting to actively challenge our service providers on methodologies implemented to share costs and the value for the services received compared to the cost

  • Support iptiQ EMEA P&C specific initiatives and projects by analyzing cost impact footprints and subsequently ensuring proper allocation and transfer of funds

  • Support the evaluation of mid-term and more tactical expense management and improvement measures (direct and indirect cost) in close collaboration with other departments

About you



  • At least 3 years of professional experience in cost controlling or cost management

  • Agile and flexible, ability to operate within a changing environment and to simultaneously handle multiple projects and prioritize

  • Demonstrate personal accountability for area of responsibility

  • Able to work in both a collaborative team environment as well as independently

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in delivery, without losing sight of the "big picture"

  • Strong communication skills, in particular ability to summarize complex technical issues to a non-expert audience

  • Clear and effective communication with senior business leaders and project teams

  • Capable of building trust with all areas of the business

  • Perfection in MS Excel/ MS PowerPoint (and preferably in Think-cell)

  • Fluent in English; fluency in other EU languages is an advantage
