About the role


We are looking for an Agile Coach who leads our teams and individuals in adopting and improving agile methods and practices such as SAFe, scrum and Kanban. Are you eager to help people rethink and change the way they work? Are you an effective change agent who is both motivating change and making it happen?


 



  • You should be open to work with both, project/product managers as well as software developers and techies. You should strive to share your expertise on agile processes and team management and support us in implementing scaled Scrum across our teams. Ideally, you're tech savvy as well and can pair with developers to help them apply test driven development, improve the continuous integration system and support other activities that are close to the code.

  • In your role as agile coach you will...

  • Be the Agile champion and guide the teams in adoption of agile/scrum principles

  • Help accelerate agile adoption across the organization

  • Deliver hands-on coaching to individual teams and the whole organization in all aspects of Scrum, Kanban and DevOps

  • Work closely with product owners and the leadership team

  • Diagnose team challenges and provide recommendations

  • Coach other coaches like Scrum Masters, Product Owners and the Leadership

  • Provide specific agile training as appropriate

  • Ensure that we continuously improve and evolve our agile processes

  • Ensure that the entire organization, including senior leadership, is fully aware and bought into our agile process methodology

  • Drive continuous improvement to create higher performing program/organizations and teams

  • Raise impediments that cannot be resolved by the sprint team

  • Train and mentor Scrum Masters to become Agile Coaches

  • Work closely with the community of practice of scrum masters

  • Have the opportunity to work in different locations (Bratislava, London, New York, Zurich)


 


About the team


With more than USD 150 bn of assets under management, Swiss Re Asset Management is responsible for the management of assets generated through the core insurance and reinsurance business. With the advent of technologies such as cognitive computing, smart analytics and machine learning, the asset management landscape will radically change in the next years in terms of distribution, investment process and investment administration. Asset Management IT drives this digital transformation with an innovative spirit and out of the box thinking. As part of this transformation, AM IT started to roll out an agile operating model. In your role, you will have the great opportunity to drive this transformation and help scale agile as the team multiplies, ensuring that we are continuously improving as we move fast. You will work in close partnership with the leadership team, the product owners and engineers.


 


About you


You have a proven track record of being a scrum master or agile coach for multiple teams, ideally in the financial industry with a focus on Asset Management.


Essentials:



  • Professional experience as agile coach or scrum master for 3-5+ years

  • Master's degree in computer science or equivalent technical background to facilitate productive technical conversations with the agile team regarding scoping, prioritization, etc.

  • Very good understanding of Agile concepts including Scrum, Kanban and Product Ownership, experience with Agile Scaling (SAFe)

  • Passion for and hands-on experience with DevOps, TDD, refactoring, automation, and continuous integration

  • Ability to be the agile leader for the sprint team, focusing on best-practices and principles

  • Experience in the Financial Markets area

  • Excellent verbal and written English skills, ideally multi-lingual (German is a plus)

  • Understanding of digital topics like smart analytics, big data, cognitive computing and artificial intelligence as well as a systems thinking background are an advantage
