"About the Role"


 


The internship in the Portfolio Management & Analytics ("PMA") team is a great opportunity for you to work at the core of Corporate Solutions ("CorSo") portfolio management and steering activities. CorSo is the commercial insurance arm of the Swiss Re Group.



You will deploy your analytical and conceptual capabilities in our highly motivated and global team. You will perform ad-hoc reports & analyses and support our reporting, monitoring and performance management activities with a strong focus on our Managing General Agent (MGA) portfolio. You will do this in close collaboration with our portfolio steering and portfolio analytics specialists. This will offer you the opportunity to gain insights into all CorSo lines of business and activities. You will get a proven understanding of the commercial insurance industry, real workplace experience, and a great opportunity to grow your professional skills.


 


Key tasks and responsibilities for this very exciting position include:



  • Contribute, drive and craft insights into the profitability of our portfolios

  • Peer review actuarial costing for our MGA portfolio

  • Tailor impactful reports to the desired audience

  • Gain a strong understanding of portfolio steering techniques and develop suggestions to further refine these

  • Frequent interaction with experts within the team, but also the wider Products and Global Markets department


 


"About the Team"


 


The PMA team plays a central role in various core activities within CorSo. We are responsible for leading the overall Portfolio Steering processes, driving steering related analytics and insights, and producing high-quality production capabilities and reports. Furthermore, we ensure a solid Governance and Compliance frame together with CorSo's Underwriting Centre Community.



PMA is highly transparent and interacts with a wide variety of decision makers within CorSo. We are a diverse team located in Zurich, Bangalore, Bratislava and Kansas City and collaborate closely with many functions within Corporate Solutions.

"About You"


 



  • You hold a Bachelor or are in your Master studies, preferably in Mathematics, Economics, or Econometrics

  • Do you desire to work in the (re)insurance industry?

  • You are able to think strategically in order to develop and implement new concepts

  • A strong attention to detail is important for you

  • Are you a self-starter and good at working independently?

  • You describe yourself as a strong communicator and able to present complex information confidently, simply and concisely

  • With your dynamic personality you inspire change and enjoy taking ownership

  • You provide superior Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills, ideally experienced with BI and Advanced Analytics platforms such as Microsoft BI

  • You are fluent in English

  • Do you have a strong interest in/ motivation to learn about insurance/reinsurance?


 


The internship is based in Zurich, Switzerland, and will last about six months. The start date would ideally be as soon as possible.
