"About the Role"

We are looking for a student to support the P&C Analytics Solutions team for 3-4 days per week, starting as soon as possible for 4 – 6 months. You will support the team with analytics capabilities and machine learning techniques to derive tangible business insights from structured and unstructured data sources.

The main responsibilities of the internship will be:

• Prototype new analytics solutions from concept to working software


• Perform quantitative analyses on insurance market data to monitor developments, identify trends and gain superior insights


• Preparation, aggregation and manipulation of data from a variety of internal and external sources, requiring a high degree of "data-savviness" and a flair for financial industry.


• Handle potentially incomplete data sets, complementing by out-sourcing internal/external information


• Produce interactive visuals with Tableau or use analytical tools to generate insight, recognise patterns and communicate your findings


• Other tasks in the many quantitative areas where our team operates, depending on applicant's background and interests

The P&C Analytics Solutions team channels and develops solutions and services for our clients across the (re)-insurance value chain. Our clients' needs are at the heart of what we do, as we make sure that our solutions and services help our clients grow and make commercial sense. It is within the mandate of the team to be at the forefront of analytics understanding by driving the development of novel solutions through the combination of risk knowledge and data science capabilities.

"About You"

• You hold a bachelor or are in your Master studies, showing a strong academic performance in a quantitative discipline (computer science, natural sciences, applied mathematics / statistics, engineering, econometrics)


• You demonstrate proficiencies in research and a knack for handling data


• Do you have experience with programming languages, such as python, R, etc?


• You provide good knowledge of Excel


• Have you already been working with Linux servers?


• Are you familiar with relational databases and SQL?


• You demonstrate strong analytical & conceptual skills and hands-on experience in analytics


• Experience with Tableau or similar visual tools as well as with software development is a plus
