Electronics Engineer (Geneva - Switzerland)


The FIA Technical Department is looking to fill the position of “Electronics Engineer”. Based in Geneva, she/he will also attend races, tests and inspection visits.


MISSIONS AND RESPONSABILITIES:


Under the authority of the Head of Electronics, the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for:


Management of control tools:



  • Design tools to control the technical regulations in place in the various FIA championships.

  • Specify, develop and validate software running on the FIA datalogger to monitor the regulations.

  • Follow the evolutions required in the FIA datalogger to accommodate for future regulations and championships.


Electronic Systems:



  • Carry out checks of on-car electrical/electronic systems and software for compliance with the technical and sporting regulations.

  • Contribute to the development of on and off-car systems (electrical, electronics, software, data) to support FIA projects.

  • Contribute to the regulations and to the vision for future electronic systems.

  • Work in close collaboration with the technical department to contribute to the common objectives of the department.


Race and test attendance:



  • Attend races and tests as required. The races/tests attendance will be decided by the Head of Electronics.

  • Support the FIA team at the event with the configuration and verification of electronics systems and FIA monitoring systems.

  • Analyse car data for compliance with the technical and sporting regulations.

  • Assist with the inspection of chassis and powertrain systems, including electronic, electrical, control systems, fuel systems, hydraulic systems.


PROFILE:



  • Engineering degree or equivalent expert level in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

  • At least 5 years post-graduate experience in motorsport electronics.

  • Technical knowledge: electrical and electronic systems, embedded systems, communication buses. Programming in C-code and Matlab/Simulink. ECU calibration, control systems for chassis and powertrain, data analysis.

  • Strong organisation and communication skills, proactive, team player attitude, ability to work autonomously and in the strictest confidence.

  • Fluent in English, spoken and written.
