At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature. Find out more on home.cern.
Diversity has been an integral part of CERN's mission since its foundation and is an established value of the Organization.
Are you a technician looking for a challenging professional experience to further your career? If so, joining CERN’s TTE programme may very well give you that challenge. This position as an Electrical Technician is part of our prestigious TTE programme.
The successful TTE fellow will join the HSE-RP-AS section who is in charge of all radiation protection aspects related to the design and operation of accelerators and experimental areas at CERN.
The proposed project will allow the fellow to master the instrumentation used for operational radiation protection (induced activity, stray radiation, contamination) become knowledgeable of all radiation protection aspects related to the operation of accelerators and in particular the implementation of the ALARA principle in the preparation and follow-up of activities.
Functions
Support the team activities by performing radiation survey measurements and by taking part in the ALARA preparation and follow-up of activities in Radiation Areas.
In particular, measurements and RP follow-up during the Linac4 connection to the PS Booster (PSB) which will take place in the Long-Shutdown.
In order to qualify for this place on the programme you will need to meet the following requirements:
