Mass Spectrometry Data Scientist (Biopharma), Genedata Expressionist, CH-Basel

The Position

We are looking for a Mass Spectrometry Data Scientist who joins our growing team of scientific consultants, supporting the expansion of our highly innovative software solution Genedata Expressionist.

You will be working closely with our customers on a wide variety of projects related to mass spectrometry (MS) data processing, analysis and management, in the field of biotherapeutics characterization, host cell protein analysis, and metabolomic profiling of cell lines.

This full-time position is located either at our headquarter office in Basel (Switzerland) or our Munich (Germany) office and requires up to 20% travel within Europe.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Build strong trust-based relationships with our customers


• Identify customer needs and understand their MS data processing/analysis workflows


• Develop together with the sales team a solution proposal to address customers’ challenges


• Provide software demos to demonstrate ROI and present project proposals to help close sales


• Manage, execute, and deliver projects for our customers


• Develop innovative data processing and analysis workflows in Genedata Expressionist


• Deliver fully configured workflow solutions and train customers at various levels of seniority


• Support our customers as a domain expert in mass spectrometry data analysis


• Respond to customer inquiries and troubleshooting requests


• Translate customer needs and be the interface to our product management team

Your Profile

• Solid scientific or technical background (MSc or PhD) in analytical sciences, physics, bioinformatics, or related fields


• 3+ years of hands-on experience in mass spectrometry data processing and analysis


• Background in protein analysis and biotherapeutics characterization are highly desirable


• Clear, confident, and thoughtful written and verbal communication, both internally and externally and across multiple levels in customer organizations


• Entrepreneurial spirit with a proactive attitude driving projects to success at highest quality


• Skilled time management with the ability to prioritize goals


• Great interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional and international team
