Supply Planning Specialist

The Opportunity


At On HQ in Zurich, we are looking for a full time Supply Planner. The role is for operations talents with strong business acumen and a proven record of independently managing large amount of qualitative and quantitative information into action-driven insights. The Supply Planner will work as part of a team to manage On’s sourcing and production supplier base, piloting the entire process of demand and capacity planning, tactical buying, production, and inventory management to ensure that the right products are in the right markets at the right time. The supply planning teams work in close collaboration on a daily basis with the other teams at On, esp. with demand planning, development, sales, strategic sourcing and logistics teams. 


Key responsibilities include:



  • Taking ownership in the the entire process of sales & operations planning, from business budgeting, sales forecasting, capacity production planning, pre-production and production, product launch, to phasing out

  • Closely monitor, analyze and mobilize inventory, strive for the balance among strong ratio of on-time order fulfilment, speedy inventory turnover and limited end-of-life stock

  • Manage the relationship with and monitor the performances of OEMs, most of which are in different time zones and from different culture backgrounds

  • Collaborate with demand planning nand logistics teams to make sure of on-time production / shipping / and delivery of products to fulfill market demand

  • Monitor and track sales across geographies and channels, both sell-in and sell-through; continuously improve the quality and processes in demand forecasting

  • Own data integrity and logic consistency of product item master, supplier information, production orders, sales orders, forecast orders, inventory, and supplier invoicing on PLM, ERP, CRM, Planning software and models, and other relevant IT enablers

  • Lead cross-functional projects centered around planning, product launch, and operations improvements

  • Bachelor/Master degree from a top university, preferably science or engineering major;
    true friend of data and processes


  • Very strong analytical and organizational skills; you feel naturally comfortable with large
    amount of data and qualitative information, and are keen to dig out the “so-what” beneath
    the numbers and drive insights into actions accordingly


  • Good interpersonal skills, you feel comfortable to independently manage internal and
    external teams and stakeholders on all levels and from different cultural backgrounds


  • Although detailed oriented and process driven, you also never let the big picture easily slip away, connecting the dots is your strength


  • 2-5 years’ of working experience, planner/buyer experience in shoes, garment, or sporting goods industry is not required but a plus; knowledge of digital solutions around planning, production and inventory management is an advantage


  • Proficiency in English, additional languages are not required; Chinese
    Cantonese/Mandarin a plus


  • Proficiency in Excel a must, strong modelling skills a plus
