Informatics/Electronics Engineer HES
Your mission :
Working with physicists, students, and fellow IT colleagues, you will be in charge of installing, integrating, configuring, and maintaining data acquisition and storage systems for the TCV and TORPEX experiments. Main duties and responsibilities include :
determination of required specifications and selection of appropriate solutions for setting up new data acquisition units and/or renewing existing systems
installation, configuration, and testing of the new data acquisition systems; integration into the experiment control and data storage processes
general maintenance of data acquisition and storage systems; development of new procedures and functionalities to improve overall reliability
Depending upon the workload, you may also contribute to other IT missions, including but not limited to:
development and maintenance of control systems for the TCV and TORPEX experiments
maintenance and monitoring of the Ethernet network dedicated to these experiments
administration of linux servers dedicated to data storage, backup, and scientific analyses
Your profile :
you completed an engineering degree in informatics or electronics, or equivalent training
describing yourself as an IT-oriented electronician or as a informatician with a strong interest for hardware solutions, you are at ease with the Linux environment.
Willing to work in a team and share responsabilities with colleagues, you are ready to pursue a diverse, challenging, and evolutive set of objectives
as a bonus, you are experienced with data acquisition systems (ADC/DAC, CAMAC, D-TACQ, ...), communication protocols (fieldbus, RS-232, i2c, …), real-time control, industrial system control solutions (EPICS, VSYSTEM), database management.
