Your mission :

The Project Coordination Office (PCO) of the Human Brain Project (HBP) at EPFL, situated at the Campus Biotech in Geneva, Switzerland is looking to strengthen its Infrastructure team with an experienced:


Technical Project Manager (F/M)
The HBP Technical Coordination Team seeks an experienced technical project manager to assist in the coordination of standard architecture and development practices across the HBP Research Infrastructure being developed, including 6 HBP Platforms:





  • Neuroinformatics

  • Brain Simulation

  • High Performance Analytics and Computing

  • Medical Informatics

  • Neuromorphic computing

  • Neurorobotics

The HBP is building a world-class infrastructure to enable open science research with the goal of substantially improving health care for brain-related diseases ranging from migraines to dementia.

Main duties and responsibilities include :



  • Work in the Technical and Scientific Coordination team to monitor the progress of project implementation across 12 subprojects and 100+ partner associations.

  • Contribute to the development of a project management database and to the curation of its data.

  • Active participation in the activities of the HBP-wide Infrastructure Coordination working group(s).

  • Technical documentation for the architecture, software engineering and system engineering practices agreed upon by the project.

  • Transverse leadership to facilitate standardization of software and system engineering practices among key HBP contributors.

  • Support the preparation of future project proposals and Description of the Action documents


Essential skills and experience:



  • Strong software and ITC architecture and development background.

  • Proven ability to drive adoption and refinement of software development practices across a large project spanning multiple partner institutions and a great interdisciplinary team.

  • Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English.

  • Technical writing skills.

Your profile :



  • Minimum of 7 years of experience and successful development track record for large collaborative software projects
