The Roche Innovation Center Zurich is active in the research and development of engineered therapeutic antibodies, with a focus on the fields of cancer immunotherapy and immunotherapy in general. Part of the Roche Group since 2005, it employs about 130 people.

The Position:


The candidate will join the CIT-2 Department at Roche Innovation Center Zürich (Schlieren, Switzerland) and will interact closely with the team of scientists and associates working on a novel class of cancer immunotherapy agents.


Her/his main tasks will be to perform in vitro biological assays to characterize the activity of novel immunotherapies.


The responsibilities will include:



  • Work with human tumor cell lines and blood

  • In vitro characterization of the activity of novel immunotherapies (assessment of tumor cell lysis, immune cell activation, proliferation, cytokine release)

  • Characterization of PBMCs by multicolor flow cytometry (FACS)

  • Data analysis and interpretation, presentations at internal meetings

  • Writing of scientific protocols

We are looking for a highly motivated student to join our CIT-2 research group for an internship of 6 months duration. You are someone with excellent scientific and organizational skills, fully committed to team work and highly flexible.
For this position you are enrolled in a university for biology, life science or a similar field and further bring the following qualifications:



  • First hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture

  • Written and verbal English is mandatory

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively and independently within a diverse group of people

  • Excellent organizational skills, high flexibility and the ability to take initiative and work according to time-lines

  • Know how to maintain the laboratory/workstation in accordance with current technical, safety and regulatory standards
