Junior Portfolio Manager - Private Markets

What it's about

The Portfolio Management business unit is responsible for the strategic steering and portfolio management of the private market investment mandates of Partners Group. The group furthermore supports the acquisition & retention of institutional clients and distribution partners with an emphasis on segregated accounts, evergreen private market solutions and new product initiatives. We are now looking to add a professional to our growing practice, based in Zug. You will be part of the Portfolio Management team and have the following responsibilities:

• Strategic planning of private markets investment products and mandates


• Implementation of Partners Group's relative value approach


• Reporting and analysis for internal and external clients


• Advising existing and prospective clients with regards to portfolio compositions


• Implementation of global portfolio management initiatives, contributing to the development of innovative & bespoke private market offerings


• Conduct various tasks related to portfolio management, implementation and monitoring of portfolios, market research and internal requests

What we expect

• Top academic credentials (MSc/MBA preferred), coursework emphasis on Business Strategy, Finance, Economics and Mathematics will be prioritized


• Professional qualification (e.g. CFA, CAIA) desirable but not a requirement


• 3-5 years' work experience predominantly in private markets or private equity investments, and/or portfolio construction experience linked to private markets in a multi-asset context


• Understanding of a wide variety of investing styles across private markets, in depth knowledge of principles of portfolio construction


• Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to pitch complex topics to clients


• Strong quantiative skills and experience in financial modeling


• Strong work ethic with a desire to learn and succeed


• Proficiency in English is a must
