Scientist - NMR Spectroscopy


 


The Challenge


Are you energized by a challenging role as Scientist with a solid knowledge in analytical chemistry? Do you want to implement your skills and develop further our NMR spectroscopy platform? If you also thoroughly enjoy using scientific expertise to support R&D and innovation projects, then our position as Scientist - NMR Spectroscopy (f/m) might be the ideal next step for you.


The Position



  • Bring in expertise and provide hands-on research support for Innovation projects, marketing and production teams within the Analytics department

  • Design, plan and execute assigned projects applying state of the art scientific knowledge best practices and established procedures

  • Characterize samples and elucidate structure using liquid state NMR Spectroscopy

  • Build up competences in NMR Spectroscopy

  • Contribute to the maintenance and upkeep NMR instruments, troubleshoot hardware and software issues

  • Be responsible for reporting and presentation of the results to our customers and at external conferences

  • Participate and contribute substantially to multidisciplinary and international project teams


 


     The Ideal



  • PhD in Analytical-, Physical or Organic Chemistry with a minimum experience in a R&D position in life-science industry is required

  • Excellent knowledge and experience including Instrument Operation with 1D, 2D-NMR on Bruker Instruments; additional MS experience would be of advantage

  • Experience with structural identification of small molecules, specifically for natural products and impurities.

  • Experience with spectrometer trouble-shooting and automatic sample changer

  • Experience with characterization of complex mixtures

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, reporting and presentation skills

  • Open-minded personality and ability to evolve in a cross-functional and multinational environment

  • Strong team player with strong communication skills in a R&D organization

  • Proficient command of English; German is a plus
