SIG Combibloc is looking for the new Head of Procurement Indirects & Secondary Packaging Global. This position will be part of the Global Procurement team, operating from the headquarter location in Neuhausen am Rheinfall, Switzerland.

Your responsibilities

This role will define, set direction and lead the overall strategy for the sourcing and supply of "Indirects & Secondary Packaging Global", ensuring that the needs of stakeholders are met in terms of cost, quality, service and innovation. Responsibilities include:
 

• Lead and manage the segment in technical, functional and personal manners


• Develop and implement Procurement strategies for the local organizations that fit with the regional and global commodity strategies. Ensuring compliance with the global framework guidelines and following the 'Buying Centre' methodology


• Identify and evaluate sourcing potential (cost, lead times, technologies etc.) for the business


• Supplier management, including evaluation and selection as well as assessment of supplier`s strategic importance and mitigation of supply market risk(s)


• Negotiation of contracts with global and regional suppliers, ensuring contracts and any subsequent claims are managed proactively


• Provide leadership and direction to local procurement teams


• Periodical reporting to the local and global management


• Stay current with market trends and supplier capabilities while demonstrating strategic thinking, category knowledge and functional expertise


• Required traveling 50-75%

Your personality

Ideally you possess a degree in Business Economics, demonstrate excellent communication skills, confidence in handling senior leadership and analytical skills with a high attention to detail. You have strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to perform in a multi-tasking environment. You have the flexibility to work independently as well as in a team depending on the tasks at hand. As a supporter of lean principles and methodologies, you will create value within our organization.
 

Applicants for this role will need several years of experience of strategic and tactical Indirects & Secondary Packaging Procurement in an international industry group. The following attributes are essential: Negotiation experience across various Indirects Sourcing Categories. Experience of running large RFPs and e-auctions. Project management, change management and strong communication skills with business acumen, global mind-set, entrepreneurial spirit and target driven attitude. English required; German is a plus.
