Laboratory Technician - Global Safety Laboratory

Laboratory Technician – your future position ?

 

In this role reporting to the Global Safety Laboratory Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out tests to determine safety data for Givaudan raw materials, products and processes, using a variety of techniques (e.g. reaction calorimetry, thermal analysis and determination of the flammability/explosivity of liquids and powders).

 

Your contribution will be key to evaluate and assist in the interpretation of the data collected from these tests, allowing correct risk assessments to be made.

 

In this exciting role, your main tasks will be to:

 

• Carry out calorimetric measurements and evaluate the results (to include adapting production processes to allow collection of calorimetric data under optimal conditions) ;


• Carry out the necessary tests for the evaluation of process safety, storage and the transportation of dangerous goods. This may include thermal stability, flammability tests and likely explosives tests of both liquids and powders ;


• Carry out tests to determine the kinetics of the decomposition reactions of products ;


• Manage the results and databases containing them ;


• Evaluate and communicate results in a suitable format ;


• Assure the continued operation of laboratory equipment ;


• Follow any procedures or quality / safety instructions relevant to the role.

   

You ?

 

Your success profile includes:

 

• CFC as Laboratory Technician or equivalent ;


• 3+ years of practical laboratory experience ;


• French mandatory, English is an asset (B2) ;


• Computer literacy (MS Office) ;


• Experience in carrying out organic syntheses on a laboratory scale is an advantage ;


• Knowledge of common laboratory operations, including GC ;


• Good knowledge of common IT office tools, including database management.
