The Department Engineering and Architecture at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts is the leading Education and Research institution in Central Switzerland for Architecture, Computer Science and Engineering. We offer application oriented Bachelors and Masters Programs, as well as various other certificates in further education. Further, we conduct application oriented research and development in the areas of "Building as a System" and "Research for the Energy Transition". We are one of the six departments of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts where some 10'500 students are educated by over 1'600 members of staff.



The iHomeLab is the leading Swiss research center for building intelligence. An interdisciplinary team with 25 electrical, electronic and software engineers, physicists and mathematicians research the application of the newest technologies, such as Wireless Sensor Networks, Internet of Things (IoT), Ambient Intelligence and Machine Learning for increased safety, security, energy flexibility and comfort in buildings.

Research Team Leader for IoT in Building Systems


Your responsibilities



  • Leading and further developing the research group IoT, including responsibility for projects, quality, personnel and finances.



  • Acquisition, management and execution of application oriented research and development projects.



  • Teaching in the department of electrical engineering with a focus on embedded software engineering



  • Supervision of student projects and Bachelors theses



  • Active involvement in the development of the iHomeLab, department and curriculum


Your profile



  • Masters in Electrical, Electronic or Software engineering. PhD is an advantage



  • Excellent track record in the area of the «Internet of Things» or related technical areas



  • Open, winning personality, able to work in and lead interdisciplinary teams



  • Experience in team leadership and Project Management in R&D



  • Broad experience working in industry



  • German and English Language skills mandatory
