We are looking for a software developer to strengthen the software team within an interdisciplinary department comprised of software, electronics and mechanical engineers. In this challenging position, you will have the opportunity to develop software for highly innovative and patient oriented In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) systems for Central Lab solutions (e.g. Coagulation analyzers). The software is real-time in nature and is developed in C++ using a real-time framework developed within the Roche group and is tested using both real and simulated hardware. The team is located in Rotkreuz, Switzerland.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Participation in all phases of software development from feasibility studies through design, development and maintenance of instruments in an agile environment


• Development and documentation of software in a regulated environment according to our process


• Establish and maintain the software architecture for our products


• Drive to further improve Software development process and align within division


• Represent the interests of our department to framework providers, DevOps and other departments


• Implementation, execution and documentation of manual and automated test cases


• Maintenance including issue analysis of released instrument control software and components

To be successful in this role (you have to):

• Degree in software engineering or a related field and at least 5 years work experience in a regulated environment


• Experience with the Linux operating system and strong interest in inter-disciplinary hardware related topics


• Good knowledge of C++ combined with at least one other object-oriented language


• Basic scripting knowledge would be an advantage


• You have good analytical skills to perform root cause analysis and trouble shooting


• You have a flair for development processes and best practices and like to maintain and align them cross-departmental


• You are fluent in German and proficient in English
