Key Account Manager & Industrial Liaison Officer (w/m)


Your mission :

In the framework of EPFL’s research activities in transportation, the EPFL’s Vice Presidency for Innovation (VPI) and EPFL’s Transportation Center (TRACE) are seeking for an: SBB Key Account Manager & Industrial Liaison Officer (100%).



Your mission: act as a privileged person of contact for SBB at EPFL and promote EPFL’s research and innovation activities relevant to SBB’s topics of interest.
Main duties and responsibilities include :



  • Actively provide SBB with fundamental knowledge as well as suggestions on operational solutions according to their needs.

  • Coordinate joint initiatives with other public and private partners.

  • Provide expertise to identify third-party funding sources and engage in writing applications for co-financing collaborations between SBB and EPFL.

  • Participate in internal SBB events to share EPFL’s vision for transportation within SBB.

  • Promote EPFL’s activities related to transportation towards the external world (public & private sectors) to make EPFL a leading actor in this field.

  • Investigate EPFL research topics related to the transportation industry and develop close interactions with EPFL scientists.

  • Organize workshops and scientific events based on industrial needs.

  • Report to SBB on EPFL’s relevant competences and research activities.


Your profile :



  • MSc or PhD, ideally in the field of civil engineering, transportation or equivalent.

  • At least 2-3 years of industrial experience. A professional experience within an R&D or innovation department related to the transportation industry would be a strong asset.

  • Capability to interact with people having different backgrounds.

  • Fluency in German, English, and French.

  • Autonomy, proactivity, teamwork.
