The Information & Communication Technology Services department provides cost effective IT infrastructure services to the Group, defines and implements infrastructure policies, solutions, architecture and standards. It builds and operates an effective hub organization supporting the shared Group IT infrastructure and centralized application platforms, hosting more than 2000 servers in a fully virtualized environment and overseeing four global datacenters. For the Datacenter Services team we are looking for an experienced Global Datacenter Services Lead 100% (f/m/d). 


 


The position is located at our global operational headquarters in Greifensee, Zurich. In this role, you are responsible to define the strategy, architecture and sustainable solutions in the Datacenter area. You lead a team of Solution Architects to design, plan and build global datacenter solutions. You closely collaborate with the Datacenter Operations team and act as Service Manager for all Datacenter Services.


 


Your responsibilities:



  • Further develop METTLER TOLEDO's global datacenter infrastructure
    Drive integration and adoption of Microsoft Azure cloud usage for datacenter services
    Manage global datacenters, two large datacenters in Switzerland and two smaller datacenters in Asia and US
    Define architecture and future evolution of server hosting (VMware virtualization, storage and backup), server platform (Windows and RedHat Linux) and system management
    Define of new standards, e.g. server hardware, datacenter infrastructure for local business units or RedHat server and system management
    Deliver sustainable solutions within the Datacenter solution area as well as its integration with other solution areas along the solution lifecycle
    Plan and actively manage project roadmap in the Datacenter services area
    Work with other functional leads for project alignment and during execution
    Manage relationships with suppliers and ensure the highest level of service quality
    Collaborate with Operations teams within respective area


Ihr Profil



  • Master/ Bachelor degree in Engineering (Informatics, Computer Science or equivalent)

  • At least 5 years of experience within a similar role in a global environment

  • Multiple years of experience in Datacenter technology (cloud platforms, server, storage, backup, virtualization, server platform and system management)

  • Ability to communicate across different functional teams with various cultural backgrounds

  • Experience with stakeholder management between IT and business (Global Process Owners, system owners on business side (mission critical applications)

  • Experience in Project Management

  • Strong People Management & Leadership Personality in a decentralized and matrix environment

  • Open for international travel depending on business needs (approx. 10 %)

  • Fluent in English, German is a big advantage
