About iptiQ EMEA P&C

iptiQ EMEA Property & Casualty is a newly built unit within Swiss Re Life Capital, established to deliver digital-native and creative solutions for Property & Casualty (P&C) clients and partners across Europe that engage with consumers in non-traditional ways.

About the role

As the Financial Planning Analyst, you will have a unique and exciting opportunity to join us: a diverse and motivated team, committed to delivering value and innovative services together with our clients and partners in the primary insurance space.

We are looking for a candidate who is interested in a long-term engagement for an approximate duration of 2 years with an average occupancy of 40%. During planning peak season (July through September) up to 100%, approximately 20% for the remainder of the year.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will support the FP&A iptiQ EMEA P&C team in planning and steering the financial performance of iptiQ EMEA P&C and supporting the Head of FP&A in all processes and deliverables related to the preparation of the Business Plan 2020-2022. We are further developing financial steering capabilities to build a robust business plan supporting business growth and act as a challenger to the business.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Support the iptiQ EMEA P&C 2020-2022 planning process – i.e. manage timelines and responsibilities in coordination with Group/Business Unit timelines and deliverables

  • Manage planning related tools – i.e. liaise with the Life Capital planning team, support business users, and review and consolidate different plan components

  • Contribute to the development of a new, comprehensive KPI reporting framework, enabling consistent business performance management

  • Support the development of strategic costing framework, i.e. projection of administration expense and commission ratios for purposes of business planning

  • Provide customized / ad-hoc performance analyses

About the team

We put the consumers' needs at the centre of what we do, aim to become a digital champion and believe in data based learning. We use the Swiss Re network to access state of the art technologies and capabilities, combine it with local expertise and an innovative mind-set, constantly questioning current ways of offering insurance. Our aim is to drive the digitalisation of the P&C insurance business in Europe, combining insurance know-how and e-commerce competencies, as well as the dynamic spirit of a start-up with the backing of Swiss Re.

Do you enjoy thinking ahead and identifying new opportunities or anticipate future challenges? Do you like driving complex, cross-functional projects in an agile way? Do you enjoy pushing borders and have a passion for the latest technologies?

About you

  • Bachelor student in final year or Master student with primary degree in Finance or Economics

  • Prior professional experience in financial planning & analysis or management reporting is a plus

  • Excellent analytical skills and technical savvy with the ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and concise fashion

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English required

  • Excellence in MS Excel/ MS PowerPoint (and preferably in Think-cell)

  • Ability to perform tasks with a high degree of autonomy, but leveraging on and working closely with relevant stakeholders

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule
