About the Role


In this role, you will collaborate with the global Engineering teams and steer the book of business with guidance from the Engineering Chief Underwriter. You will work within the Special Lines Centre with a dotted line to the Chief Underwriter Engineering and serve as a member of Engineering Leadership Team.


 


Together with the Engineering Centre team, you will handle the Engineering product offering (Facultative and Treaty), drive Business Development and Marketing and facilitate strategic projects and initiatives. You will spend part of your time coaching the global teams on how to handle unusual cases and develop the Engineering community (with a focus on L3/L4 underwriters). Lastly, you will be responsible for timely and relevant Engineering reporting, lead costing tool improvement and own underwriting guidelines and referral processes.


 


You will lead a virtual team across the Special Lines Centre and the Engineering Hubs globally and collaborate closely with other Special Lines on a project basis.


 


About the Team


In the Special Lines Centre, we work with global Agriculture, Aviation, Credit& Surety, Engineering and Marine teams on a diverse set of topics ranging from Products and Underwriting Steering to Operational Excellence, Strategy, Innovation, Business Development and Marketing.


 


About You



  • Extensive Engineering underwriting experience in Treaty and Facultative

  • Results oriented and comfortable in leading change

  • Effective communicator, able to engage with both technical and non-technical audiences confidently

  • Demonstrated mentoring skills with experience in collaborating across different locations and cultures

  • Excellent command of the English language, additional languages a plus

  • University degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
