The Head of Commercial Policy is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient functioning of the ISO Central Secretariat (ISO/CS) customer service team, which provides support to ISO Standards users to easily access ISO publications through its various distributions channels (ISO Webstore, ISO Members and Third-Party Distributors). This includes defining the team’s priorities and contributing to the organizational strategy, overseeing the interpretation and implementation of ISO’s Commercial Policy (ISO POCOSA), and liaising with other ISO/CS units to ensure coordination of work.
He/she has the ownership of the of ISO Store and ISOlutions Webstore's purchasing processes and elaborating proposals for their development and improvements. He/she is responsible for collecting royalties from ISO Members, Third-Party Distributors and other licensees and manage retrocession payments to ISO Members.
The Head is also responsible to support the Secretary of ISO’s Commercial Policy Advisory Group (CPAG) which includes the preparation and coordination of CPAG meetings, and the follow-up of its actions and recommendations to Council. In this role, he/she will be in charge of elaborating approaches for the development and implementation of ISO’s commercial and copyright strategies. He/she will represent ISO at conferences or workshops on topics related to commercial or copyright strategies.
He/she works in close relationship with the communication team, sharing sales trends, promoting the ISOlutions Webstore within the ISO member community, among others.
Interpret and implement ISO’s commercial and copyright policies (ISO POCOSA)
Assist members with the interpretation of the principles of ISO POCOSA. Communicate, educate, and advise ISO/CS, ISO Members, Third-Party Distributors and end-users to ensure the conditions in these policies are respected. Coordinate the work of CPAG and other governance bodies on the development of ISO’s copyright and commercial policies. Negotiate license and reproduction agreements.
Effectively serve customers
Provide support to ISO Members and their Third-Party Distributors in promoting, accessing and distributing ISO Publications in their national markets. Ensure timely and effective customer support, including ISO/CS customers, who have enquiries related to ISO and its standards, maximizing customer experience and defining KPIs.
Support of the dissemination of ISO Publications and e-commerce
Oversee the efficiency of ISO Store and ISOlutions Webstore's purchasing processes and elaborating proposals for their development and improvements. Ensure that product offering created by Marketing is distributed effectively through ISO Members, ISOlutions and ISO store.
Collect and Analyze Data
Collect data, provide market data on the sales of standards, royalty payments, and other key figures related to sales. Prepare sales and copyright revenues budget, forecasts, as well as reports and analysis.
