Description


Pix4D develops drone photogrammetry software and products that enable tens of thousands of professionals around the world to process, visualize, assess and edit their own maps and 3D models.


We are looking for a passionate manager to lead our team of DevOps experts to design, develop and operate the Continuous Integration and quality tracking services to enable the highest productivity for the Pix4D product teams. This manager is expected to lead a team of senior engineers, to grow their expertise and balance technical excellence with strategic priorities.


You will lead the Pix4D Platform Continuous Integration team in the Lausanne office and under the Director of Platform Development to develop Continuous Integration services and workflows which will have a direct impact on our company’s software developers. The ideal candidates will demonstrate strong skills in software development, software architecture and DevOps with a proven ability to guide distributed teams to repeatable, measurable success in challenging projects.


RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Act as product owner for DevOps and Backend Software Engineers in the research, design, implementation, and operation of Pix4D’s Continuous Integration Platform for software development teams targeting MacOS, Windows, Linux, Android and iOS.

  • Prioritize feature enhancements on the Continuous Integration system to improve the productivity of Pix4D software developer users, while strategically managing technical debt.

  • Prioritize feature enhancements for internal tools which support quantitative software Quality Assurance.

  • Recruiting of DevOps specialists and software developers for the Continuous Integration team.

  • Actively participate in the team and company’s agile processes

  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary software product team and engage in technical discussions in a creative, interactive and dynamic team-based environment


Requirements



  • Strong understanding of IT security practices and network architecture.

  • A good understanding of backend software development and distributed software architecture.

  • Ability to justify decisions with quantitative analyses and to guide the team to do the same with proper attention to validation.

  • Proven ability to lead architecture and management of complex software projects with diverse stakeholders.

  • Experience managing teams working with modern software methodologies including but not limited to:

    • Systematic unit, integration and quality testing

    • Continuous integration

    • Source control and systematic peer code-review

    • Scrum, Kanban or similar agile processes


  • Fluent in Python, C++ or Go with a preference for all 3.

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Proficient in spoken and written English


Nice to have



  • Experience managing a large-scale distributed system in AWS or similar environment

  • Experience operating RDBMS in a large scale production environment.
