Innovative Environmental Services (IES) Ltd is an independent GLP-certified Contract
Research Organization (CRO) with its headquarters in Witterswil, close to the city of Basel
(Switzerland). We perform Environmental Fate, Metabolism, Ecotoxicological and Analytical
Chemistry Testing to support the development, registration and stewardship of
agrochemicals, chemical products and pharmaceuticals.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a qualified:

Chief Operating Officer (COO) (100%)

Your main responsibilities:

• Take responsibility for all operational units including budget responsibility


• Coordinate and optimise all operational processes and drive the resource efficiency


• Act as a strong leader and coach to build up a powerful operational management team
  and cultivate a highly effective and efficient business and operational structure


• Maintain strong communication across all internal functions within the key principals
  (finance, operations, sales and marketing, quality, safety, HR) and also externally with
  clients


• Occasionally travel to client meetings or participate in conferences

You know the CRO business and its requirements very well. You like to demonstrate your
leadership and management skills through your entrepreneurial spirit to highly perform in a
very competitive business environment. You enjoy working in an open and constructive

levels of hierarchy. To work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple
stakeholders is one of your assets.

Eligibility:

• Proven track record at operational managerial level in a Contract Research
  Organisation (CRO) for at least 8 years with established relationships and deep
  knowledge in the CRO business


• Have a scientific graduate or postgraduate education and ideally a recognised
  business qualification


• The ability to lead and develop people at all levels, in heterogeneous environments
  and in different situations while maintaining empathy, consistency and transparency


• Strong analytical, organizational, influencing, interpersonal, communication and
  management skills


• German or English is your native language and you have very good command of
  written and spoken English and German

Your Chance:
As COO you will directly report to the CEO and to the Board of Managers. You will lead the
department heads and their teams. Depending on your qualifications you can additionally
take over the function of Test Facility Manager and in this role ensure high service
performance and compliance with safety standards and values, especially Good Laboratory
Practice (GLP). In this very interesting, diversified, challenging and responsible position, you
