Corporate Strategy Intern


 


Amcor has opportunities for 2-3 months’ summer internships, based in Zurich. There are two strategy based roles: one being part of the global Strategic Development Group (SDG) and focusing on Corporate Strategy; the other being part of the Amcor Flexibles Europe, Middle East & Africa (AFEMEA) business group.

While the precise nature of the role will depend on the business needs at the time, successful candidates will likely have the opportunity to:



  • Work on “Blue Sky” initiatives and cross business group strategy development

  • Identify opportunities for expansion and growth across the Amcor portfolio

  • Analyse market, competitor, customer and supplier trends

  • Coordinate and participate in high profile strategic projects for the Business Groups e.g., portfolio strategy, segment strategies, business model enhancements, strategic growth pipeline

  • Get an understanding of Amcor’s activities and the global packaging industry

  • Take part in SDG team development activities and training

  • Engage with colleagues across Global Functions and Business Groups including exposure to senior management



Ideally the successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:



  • University degree and a Master’s / MBA (or currently studying for a Master’s / MBA)

  • 2 or more years of relevant experience, preferably at a top tier strategic consulting firm

  • International/global experience

  • A strategic mindset and adaptable and constructive approach to problem solving

  • Understanding of global corporate and commercial issues

  • Comfortable working with senior management / executives

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

  • Quantitative modelling and analytical skills

  • Strong planning and organization competence, plus ability to deal with ambiguity

  • Fluency in English – other languages a benefit
